Lima/ Cusco/ 4 Day Inca Trail/ Machu Picchu

Our 7 day ´Trekking The Inca´ package is a convenient itinerary based around hiking one of the best treks in the world, the 4 Day Inca Trail. This trek is subject to availability and is very high in demand and we suggest booking at least 4-5 months in advance to secure your spot. A huge bucket list item and a right of passage for trekkers traveling to Peru.
Fixed Departures: The Inca Trail is subject to availability. We recommend that you book this trek at least 4-5 months in advance to secure your spot on the trek. We have 4 set departure days per week so enquire today for more information.
7 DAY ITINERARY

Our itineraries are second-to-none – We have balanced the best experience possible, including more, while our prices are the most competitive.

Upon arrival into Lima´s International Airport you will make your way through the arrivals doors. Your hotel is conveniently located in the carpark of the airport. A quick walk and no need for transfers. You will appreciate the convenience and comfort after your international flight. 

Note: Most International flights arrive into Lima late in the evening. All flights for Cusco depart in the morning and afternoon.

Breakfast at your hotel. At the designated time you will walk over to the airport and check in for your flight from Lima to Cusco. Upon arrival into Cusco you will be greeted by our staff who will be holding a sign with your "last name" on it. You will be transferred to your hotel. Free day to acclimatize. 

Inca Trail Pre-Briefing:
In the evening at 7pm your guide will come to your hotel and present you with important information regarding your trek departing the next day. It will be a good opportunity for you to ask any final questions that you have.

Breakfast at your hotel in Cusco. Early morning pick up and we will enjoy a scenic drive to the starting point of the trek, Piscacucho (Km 82) stopping off at Ollantaytambo before hand. We will ease our way into the trek with some easy walking along the banks of the Urubamba River taking in the views of the snow capped peaks of Mount Veronica. We will stop for an enjoyable lunch before reaching our first campsite at Wayllabamba, where dinner will be served. Overnight at campsite.

After breakfast we will commence our day of walking through some lush tropical rainforest of the Llulluchpampa Valley (3,850m). Followed by the biggest challenge of the trek, hiking Dead Woman´s Pass (Warmi Wausca - 4,200m) which from the top you will enjoy the panoramic views. After a short rest and some photos we will then descend to our next campsite in Pacaymayo where you will enjoy a well deserved lunch and dinner. Overnight at the campsite.

The longest and most impressive day of the trek. Today we will visit archaeological complexes and hike through lush tropical cloud forests. We will ascend towards Runkurakay and Chaquicocha where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. After lunch we will push forward and hike to Phuyupatamarca (3,700m) then down to our final campsite Wiayhuayna (2,679m) which is a well preserved and complex archaeological site with views overlooking the Urubamba River. Dinner at campsite and overnight.

Breakfast and then we will hike till we reach the Sun Gate (Intipunku) enjoying our first spectacular views of Machu Picchu. We will descend hiking through lush tropical jungle. Upon arrival into Machu Picchu your guide will give you a 2 hour tour of the citadel. By noon you will have worked yourself up an appetite. We have included a delicious buffet lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. After lunch you will take the shuttle bus down to Aguas Calientes where you will aboard a scenic train ride back to Cusco where you will be met and transferred back to your hotel. 

*You may be interested in hiking up to Hyuana Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain. These hikes are subject to availability. Enquire for more information.

Breakfast at your hotel. At the designated time you will be picked up and transferred to the airport for your flight from Cusco to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima you will connect for your flight departing homeward bound.

There are 2 large self-serve counters that include a selection of appetizers, 4 main courses, and several dessert options. Bread, salads and pasta side dishes are also on offer. Coffee, herbal teas and soft drinks are also available at a smaller drinks stand to the rear. With few quality choices available in the town of Aguas Calientes below and being time constrained to catch your train this is the very best choice.

Inca Trail Tips
On the Inca Trail you will need to pay a tip to the guide which will get distributed amongst the guide, porters and cooks. As a reference a good tip would be around 150 soles (US$50) total. That covers the guide, porter and cooks. Also take with you an extra 50 soles (US$16) on the trek to buy drinks and snacks from the locals.
