15 DAY ITINERARY

Our itineraries are second-to-none. Our Luxury Collection is for those wanting the "very best" Peru has to offer.

Upon arrival into Lima´s International Airport - Jorge Chavez, you will be met by one of our staff holding a sign with your "last name" on it. You will be greeted then transferred to your hotel in Miraflores, the Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel. This is the best hotel in Lima. You will be staying in an Ocean View Junior Suite with views overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Overnight.

Introduction to Lima
Today you will be picked up by your guide for the ultimate experience of Lima. We will start our tour by visiting the Plaza De Armas which includes a 16th Century Cathedral, fountains and grand colonial buildings. The perfect introduction to Old Lima. Then we will visit Casa Aliaga Mansion built in 1535 and known for it´s architectural grandeur and history. 

Larco Museum
We will then visit the Larco Museum which is highly regarded as one of the best Pre-Columbian museums in the world with a vast collection of gold, silver, erotic art and antiquities. 

Urban Kitchen Cooking Class
In the afternoon you will participate in a cooking lesson at Urban Kitchen. The class lasts around an hour and a half. You will learn to prepare two of Peru´s most typical dishes: Ceviche and Lomo Saltado. The chef will tell you about each ingredient and explain it´s preparation step by step. Afterwards you will get to enjoy the dishes that you have prepared. At the end of the class you will be transferred back to your hotel. 

Recommendation
Lima has 3 restaurants ranked in the World´s top 50. They include Central, Maido and Astrid y Gaston. There are many other excellent restaurants. Speak to one of our Travel Specialists and we will make some recommendations and make a reservation. We highly recommend the tasting menu at Astrid y Gaston. Reservations are essential months in advance.

Breakfast at your hotel. At the designated time you will be picked up from your hotel in Miraflores and transferred to the airport and assisted with your check in for your flight from Lima to Arequipa. Upon arrival into Arequipa you will be met by our staff holding a sign with your "last name" on it. You will be greeted and transferred to your hotel where you will have a short pre-briefing. You will check in to your hotel the Costa Del Sol, staying in the Suite Misti. 

3 Course Dinner included: 
In the evening you will be picked up from your hotel and dropped off at Zig Zag Restaurant. Zig Zag is our favorite restaurant in Arequipa. Included is a 3 course A La Carta Dinner. After dinner you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel.

Arequipa City Tour
Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning you will be picked up for your City tour of Arequipa. We will start the tour at the Museum of Andean Sanctuaries where you will see the Juanita Mummy, a 14 year old daughter of an Inca Dignitary mummified by the cold. She was found at the snow-capped Ampato Mountain in 1995 and was exhibited at the National Geographic Society in Washington. We will then make our way to the impressive main square, the most beautiful main square in Peru, which is located next to the Arequipa Cathedral built in the 17th Century, followed by a visit of the Monastery of Saint Catherine, built in 1579 which is an authentic medieval cloister and a small religious centre still used to date. We will then visit the Jesuit Church (1590) a classic example of Baroque architecture. Finishing the tour with impressive views of Arequipa at Yanahuara and Carmen Alto. 

Lunch at Chicha 
Following your tour, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at Gaston Acurio´s Chicha Restaurant. After lunch you will be dropped off at your hotel where you will overnight.

Day 1 - Colca
Breakfast at your hotel. Morning pick up for your trip to Colca along the way passing Chachani Volcano, Pampa de Arrieros and the National Reserve of Pampa Canahuas where slender Vicunas can be appreciated. At Patapampa (4800m) you will observe the Volcanoes that surround Arequipa. We will then descend to Chivay for lunch. After lunch you will arrive at the Colca Lodge where you will enjoy the relaxing Andean surrounds soaking in the world class medicinal Hot Springs. Overnight in the Panoramic Suite.

Breakfast at your hotel. Pick up and we will head towards the Condor´s Cross near Chivay. It´s here at one of the most stunning parts of the Colca Canyon that we will witness the huge Condors soaring the canyon walls. We will visit the towns of Maca, Achoma and the lookouts of Antahuilque and Choquetico. In the afternoon you will be dropped off at your hotel in Colca where lunch is included. Relax and unwind in the medicinal hot springs.

Transfer back to your hotel in Arequipa
Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy the relaxing surrounds of your hotel in Colca. In the afternoon you will be picked up for your journey back to Arequipa, along the way you will enjoy lunch. Upon arrival into Arequipa you will be dropped off at your hotel where you will overnight.

Aboard the Andean Explorer Train
In the evening you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the train station where you will aboard the luxurious Belmond Andean Explorer Train, the ultimate way to explore the Andes. At 8pm you will board, enjoy a cocktail, have dinner before retreating to your cabin for the evening. Overnight.

This morning you will wake up and witness the glorious sunrise on Lake Titicaca, before continuing our journey. Breakfast will be served on board and after this we will tour lake Titicaca by boat, visiting the Islands of Uros, a set of floating islands made of totora plants that grow in the lake. We will then visit Taquile Island from where we will have a wonderful view of the lake. Lunch will be held at Collata Beach along with a demonstration of typical dances and craftsmanship of the inhabitants of the island. We will make our way back to land and you will be transferred to the station where we will enjoy some tea. We will continue onboard towards Cusco enjoying a cocktail and dinner on board. Overnight on the train.

Breakfast on board, we will enjoy the amazing scenery before reaching our next stop, the Incan archaeological storage site of Viracocha. At noon we will board the train and continue our journey till we arrive at Cusco train station. You will be met and transferred to your hotel the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas, where you will be staying in the Studio suite. 

Dinner at MAP Cafe
In the evening you will be picked up from your hotel for an La Carta Dinner at MAP Cafe. After dinner you will be transferred back to your hotel where you will overnight.

City Tour of Cusco
In the afternoon your tour of Cusco will begin with a visit of Koricancha Temple, one of the most important buildings in the city where the Inca civilization would worship the Sun God, it was later converted into a convent by the Spanish. Then you will visit the Cusco Cathedral, built between 1560 and 1664. Then finally the bohemian neighborhood of San Blas, residence of artists and craftsmen. Discover its streets, between bars, shops and art galleries. Finally we will visit the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman. 

Pisco Tasting
In the afternoon you will enjoy a Pico tasting experience at Marcelo Batata. Pisco is Peru´s national drink and during this tasting you will try a variety of Peru´s best Pisco´s accompanied with various bite sized appetizers. After the tasting you will be transferred back to your hotel where you will have the evening free to enjoy at your leisure.

Maras & Moray
You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning for your tour to the archaeological sites of Maras and Moray. You will visit Maras, a complex Salt Mine. These large salt deposits were used to trade amongst the Inca Empire. We will then visit the site of Moray which consists of concentric circular terraces which form an agricultural research center. The higher external platforms have higher temperatures than the cooler levels below and each level could simulate slightly different weather conditions, growing different crops on each level. 

Taster Menu Lunch
To compliment your experience of Moray & Maras you will enjoy a Tasting Menu lunch at MIL (located next to Moray) which is owned by Virgilio Martinez, the owner of Central in Lima which is ranked the fifth best restaurant in the world. Here you will enjoy 8 courses, each dish reflects the 8 eco systems found at this altitude. Each ingredient, the design, architecture and materials come together to provide the diner with an experience that connects with the Andean cosmovison and the traditions of the communities in the region. After this experience you will be transferred to your hotel in the Sacred Valley the Sol y Luna. Here you will be staying in the Premium Casita. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of your surrounds. You may wish to take a dip in your very own outdoor Jacuzzi. Overnight.

Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes
You will be picked up and we will travel to the fortress of Ollantaytambo. The second most impressive archaeological complex you will visit on this trip. A large fortress and typical example of urban planning during the Inca empire. 

Traditional Pachamanca Lunch
We will then make our way to the El Albergue Hotel for a Pachamanca Lunch which is a traditional Peruvian meal cooked underneath the ground with hot stones to create a natural hot oven. After lunch you will walk with your guide to the train station in Ollantaytambo where you will take the Vistadome Train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival your guide will escort you to your hotel the Inkaterra El Pueblo and will assist you with your check in. Dinner is included at your hotel in Aguas Calientes. Tonight you will stay in the Junior Suite room which features a cozy open fire place in the room.

Tour of Machu Picchu
Breakfast at your hotel. We recommend rising early and going up to Machu Picchu at sunrise, that is when the magic happens. You will have 6 hours to explore this incredible World Wonder with your guide. By noon you will have worked yourself up an appetite. We have included a delicious buffet lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. After lunch you will take the shuttle bus down to Aguas Calientes where you will aboard the Hiram Bingham Train. 

Hiram Bingham Train Journey
The Hiram Bingham experience is reliving a XIX century novel journey. You will be welcomed with aperitifs, dinner and an excellent selection of wines. Taking the Hiram Bingham back to Cusco is dancing to local music while sipping Pisco Sours. Step out to the open air observation car while the sun is setting over the mountain peaks and breathe in the sacred landscape. Upon arrival into Cusco you will be met at the train station and transferred to your hotel where you will overnight.
