Upon arrival into Lima´s International Airport you will make your way through the arrivals doors. Your hotel is conveniently located in the carpark of the airport. A quick walk and no need for transfers. You will appreciate the convenience of slipping straight into a comfortable bed after your international flight.

Breakfast at your hotel. At the designated time you will walk over to the airport and check in for your flight from Lima to Cusco. Upon arrival into Cusco you will be greeted by our staff who will be holding a sign with your "last name" on it. You will be transferred to your hotel and given a pre-briefing. Free day to acclimatize.

Ask one of our Destination experts for recommendations for dinner. Cicciolina and Chicha are always popular favorites.

Cusco City tour

Today you will be picked up from hotel for your tour of Cusco. We will make our way up to the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, and start our excursion visiting the fortress with the same name, a beautiful place that radiates peace and quiet, where you will be able to admire the huge rocks measuring up to 4 meters. We will then head to Qénqo, an ancient temple dedicated to the Puma, where you will observe an altar used for sacrifices, and then Tambomachay the sacred fountain of life and health. We will enjoy a panoramic view at Puca Pucara, a watchtower that controlled the entrance to the city. Afterwards we will visit the Temple of the Sun "Korikancha", on top of which the Santo Domingo Convent was built. A legend tells that this temple was entirely lined with gold sheets which brought much enthusiasm to the Conquistadors upon their arrival. Finally, we will go to the Main Square and will visit the Cathedral that houses invaluable colonial paintings and other works of art such as the Cross that arrived with the first Spanish Conquerors. After your tour you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Tour of the Sacred Valley

Pick up from your hotel in morning. Today you will discover the most outstanding sites of the Sacred Valley. Our first stop will be the town of Chinchero, the most typical and picturesque of the Sacred Valley where we will appreciate its Inca archaeological complex and its beautiful colonial church. Chinchero is also famous for its weavers, who will teach the ancient Inca techniques for dyeing and spinning with Alpaca wool. We will continue to Moray, a beautiful and curious Inca archaeological complex composed of colossal concentric terraces simulating a large amphitheater. In Inca times it served as an agricultural laboratory where diverse microclimates were recreated. Lunch at a restaurant in the area. Finally, we end our tour visiting the fabulous archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, a religious, military and agricultural center. We will then make our way down to Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, the small town below Machu Picchu. Upon arrival you will be escorted to your hotel. Your guide will give you a short pre-briefing about your tour of Machu Picchu. Dinner is included at your hotel. Overnight.

Tour of Machu Picchu

At the designated time you will take the shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu from the town of Aguas Calientes. During the ascent you will appreciate the lush topical cloud forest landscape which is inhabited by brightly colored exotic plants and hummingbirds. Included is a 4 hour visit of Machu Picchu (one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World) and a 2 hour guided tour with your guide. Here you will visit the most important sites such as: The Sun Temple, Intihuatana (Sun Stone), and the room of three windows. Machu Picchu is at the top of everyones bucket list and it is far bigger, grandiose and magical in person than any photo or postcard, making it the most popular destination in Latin America.

Buffet Lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge

By lunchtime you will have worked yourself up an appetite! We have included a treat, a buffet lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. The only restaurant located up at Machu Picchu. Here you will enjoy a delicious spread. After lunch you take the shuttle back down to Aguas Calientes where you will aboard a scenic train ride back to Cusco. Upon arrival into Cusco you will be met and transferred back to your hotel where you will overnight and rest after one of the most memorable and magical days of your life.

Day 1 - Puerto Maldonado

Breakfast at your hotel. At the designated time you will be picked up and transferred to the airport for your quick flight over the Amazon Basin to one of the Amazon Jungles most remote and naturally dense regions, Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival you will be greeted by the lodge staff who will give you all the necessary information for your stay. The adventure begins with a scenic 45 minute boat ride up the Madre Dios River. Upon arrival at your lodge, you will settle in your beautiful cabana followed by a buffet lunch made with organic ingredients and native flavors. Take a nap, followed by a refreshing tea and get ready for the afternoon activities. We recommend a guided walk along the trail system, which offers the perfect introduction to the jungle environment, winding past trees such as the Shihuahuaco and the strangler fig, offering excellent opportunities for bird watching and observing exotic insects. We also recommend on the first night the Twighlight River excursion - a guided afternoon boat ride on the Madre Dios river. Witness the transformation from the diurnal to the nocturnal world. You will learn about Nightjars, Owls, Capybaras and Caimans. Enjoy dinner then retreat to your cabana listening to the intriguing sounds of the jungle at night.

Day 2 - Puerto Maldonado

Wake up late or rise early...the choice is yours. Full buffet breakfast begins at 05:30am. This morning you may take the Lake Sandoval excursion into the Tambopata National Reserve. Glide in a wooden canoe, across the mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to endangered giant river otter, red howler monkeys, red bellied macaws, anacondas, side neck turtles, black caiman and if your lucky a Jaguar! Return for lunch. Afterwards, consider the world class Canopy and Anaconda walkways. From 29 meters above in the treetop realm, walk for a quarter mile, through the rainforest canopy on a suspension bridge network linking to 8 observation platforms. During this half hour expedition be on the look out for toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys and three-toed sloths. You may wish to extend to witness the sunset. Upon your decent from the canopy you will walk along a 200 meter wooden bridge called the Anaconda Walkway. Here in this lush eco system you may observe the various species of amphibians, birds, mammals, abundant flora, trees and the possibility to see snakes along the flooded marshland. Upon arrival back at the lodge you will have dinner. If your interested there is a nature presentation in the evening.

Day 3 - Puerto Maldonado/ Departure

Enjoy your final buffet breakfast, then it will be time to retrace our steps back to Puerto Maldonado by outboard motorized canoe. You will arrive at a Butterfly House learning about the fascinating transformation of these colorful insects. You will then take your flight from Puerto Maldonado to Lima where you will connect for your flight departing homeward bound.
