Day 1 - Inca Trail

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the train station in Poroy. We will take the train to km.104 which is the starting point of the trek. We will cross a hanging bridge and continue to the ruins of Chachabamba which is an important Inca religious site. We will continue hiking through streams and we will descend through a lush tropical cloud forest. We will enjoy a boxed lunch and continue to Winaywayna one of the most beautiful sites in the area for its construction and setting. We will then hike to (Inti Punku) also know as the Sun Gate. It´s here we will have our first impressive and panoramic views of Machu Picchu. We will then hike down a winding trail enjoying the views of Machu Picchu along the way till we get to Aguas Calientes. You will overnight in Aguas Calientes staying at the comfortable Inkaterra El Mapi hotel. Dinner included at your hotel. Overnight.

Breakfast at your hotel. We recommend rising early and going up to Machu Picchu at sunrise, that is when the magic happens. You will have time to explore this incredible World Wonder including a 2 hour guided tour with our local expert guide. By noon you will have worked yourself up an appetite. We have included a delicious buffet lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. After lunch you will take the shuttle bus down to Aguas Calientes where you will aboard a scenic Vistadome Train ride back to Cusco where you will be met and transferred back to your hotel.

You may be interested in hiking up to Hyuana Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain. These hikes are subject to availability. Enquire for more information.
