City Tour of Lima

In the afternoon you will be picked up for your City Tour of Lima. You will visit Larcomar, the Parque Amor which is ideally located with a spectacular view overlooking the Pacific Ocean from above the Malecon. We will then head to Huaca Pucllana for a panoramic view of this Pre-Incan ruin in the centre of Lima´s affluent neighborhood of San Isidro which offers a unique contrast. Afterwards we will head to Lima´s main square where the Presidential Palace and Town Hall are located. We will visit the Cathedral and explore the Santo Domingo Convent, along which corridors Saint Martin de Porres and Santa Rosa de Lima used to walk around in the 17th Century and where their remains rest today. After the tour you will be transferred to your hotel.

Overnight bus to Huaraz

In the evening you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the bus station for your overnight bus to Huaraz (8 Hours).

Pick up for your tour of Chavin de Huantar, the most representative ceremonial center of the High Peruvian Culture, which is more than 3000 years old, considered to be the first Peruvian high Culture. Here you will explore like Indiana Jones (or David Bowie) through the Labyrinths and underground galleries. You will appreciate the Lanzon Monolithic, Choquechinchay Stone, Ceremonial Plaza and the Gates of the Falcons. After your tour you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Tour of the Blue Lagoons

Early morning pick up and we will enjoy an impressive drive along the magnificent Callejon de Huaylas Valley, irrigated by the Santa River making our way between the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra mountain ranges passing rugged granite walls of the eroded glacial mountains, with Huascaran (6,768m) being the highest peak in Peru. It´s here in the heart of the Huascaran Biosphere Reserve we will learn about high tropical Andes species and ecosystems, a giant natural history laboratory. We will visit Chincocha Lake (3,850 m) where its jade colored water is lined with silk paper barked Quenua and Quishuar trees. After we visit Orcococha Lake we will start our hike through the Yanapakcha gorge. Enjoying the spectacular views along the way passing streams, bromeliads, orchids, cactus amongst other plant species, a playground for hummingbirds. We will hike along the path that leads to Laguna 69 (4600m) an emerald blue lake surrounded by rugged granite walls, glaciers and the world highest tropical ice capped peaks. For the adventurous, take a dip. Lunch. After enjoying the scenery and having taken some photos, if time permits we may hike to Sendero Maria Josefa, following the river through the Quenua forest. We will then take a private car and make our way back to your hotel in Huaraz.

Notes: High altitude (4600 m) and quite a challenging trek but highly rewarding. (Don´t forget your camera)

Cusco City tour

Today you will be picked up from hotel for your tour of Cusco. We will make our way up to the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, and start our excursion visiting the fortress with the same name, a beautiful place that radiates peace and quiet, where you will be able to admire the huge rocks measuring up to 4 meters. We will then head to Qénqo, an ancient temple dedicated to the Puma, where you will observe an altar used for sacrifices, and then Tambomachay the sacred fountain of life and health. We will enjoy a panoramic view at Puca Pucara, a watchtower that controlled the entrance to the city. Afterwards we will visit the Temple of the Sun "Korikancha", on top of which the Santo Domingo Convent was built. A legend tells that this temple was entirely lined with gold sheets which brought much enthusiasm to the Conquistadors upon their arrival. Finally, we will go to the Main Square and will visit the Cathedral that houses invaluable colonial paintings and other works of art such as the Cross that arrived with the first Spanish Conquerors. After your tour you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Tour of the Sacred Valley

Pick up from your hotel in morning. Today you will discover the most outstanding sites of the Sacred Valley. Our first stop will be the town of Chinchero, the most typical and picturesque of the Sacred Valley where we will appreciate its Inca archaeological complex and its beautiful colonial church. Chinchero is also famous for its weavers, who will teach the ancient Inca techniques for dyeing and spinning with Alpaca wool. We will continue to Moray, a beautiful and curious Inca archaeological complex composed of colossal concentric terraces simulating a large amphitheater. In Inca times it served as an agricultural laboratory where diverse microclimates were recreated. Lunch at a restaurant in the area. Finally, we end our tour visiting the fabulous archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, a religious, military and agricultural center. We will then make our way down to Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, the small town below Machu Picchu. Upon arrival you will be escorted to your hotel. Your guide will give you a short pre-briefing about your tour of Machu Picchu. Dinner is included at your hotel. Overnight.

At the designated time you will take the shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu from the town of Aguas Calientes. During the ascent you will appreciate the lush topical cloud forest landscape which is inhabited by brightly colored exotic plants and hummingbirds. Included is a 4 hour visit of Machu Picchu (one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World) and a 2 hour guided tour with your guide. Here you will visit the most important sites such as: The Sun Temple, Intihuatana (Sun Stone), and the room of three windows. Machu Picchu is at the top of everyones bucket list and it is far bigger, grandiose and magical in person than any photo or postcard, making it the most popular destination in Latin America.

Buffet Lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge

By lunchtime you will have worked yourself up an appetite! We have included a treat, a buffet lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. The only restaurant located up at Machu Picchu. Here you will enjoy a delicious spread. After lunch you take the shuttle back down to Aguas Calientes where you will aboard a scenic train ride back to Cusco. Upon arrival into Cusco you will be met and transferred back to your hotel where you will overnight and rest after one of the most memorable and magical days of your life.
